“I would suggest that modern technology and entertainment have done great damage to young people’s sense of vision and purpose–especially among young men. I’m not anti-technology. But never before in the history of the world has triviality and mind-numbing shallowness been so tantalizingly seductive and so pervasively omnipresent. Never before has it been so easy to check out of real life and live in the realm of the hypertrivial.” Read more…
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I posted this quote:
“All the heresies which have arisen in the Christian Church have had a decided tendency to dishonor God and to flatter man.”
—C.H. Spurgeon
…and it appears some LDS people re-blogged it. But, C. H. Spurgeon is talking about (among others) the blatant heresy that is the Mormon Church. What flatters man more than him becoming a god, as Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and all of their “prophets” have taught?
This goes to show, the LDS church is no longer teaching their own doctrine, but attempting to slide into mainstream Christianity. If you’re LDS, start to research the claims made against your church. Watch testimonies of former LDS. Ask the hard questions to your elders and leaders.
The truth is, the LDS church is actively opposed to Jesus Christ, his work on the cross, and our Creator’s plan to save those whom he loves….
“We were having lunch together and I was praying like mad. My friend had been in a committed same-sex relationship for about 15 years. He was interested in Jesus; attracted to his teaching and message. But he wanted to know what implications becoming a Christian might have on his practicing gay lifestyle.” Read more…

The Forgotten Trinity
Jesus is God, and the “Ganville Sharp Rule”
by J. Ligon Duncan
Who is Jesus? Is He divine? Such questions have exercised the minds of thoughtful inquirers for nigh unto two thousand years since Jesus of Nazareth completed his earthly ministry. His disciples, by their own admission, had wrestled with his identity during the years of their training. But after the ascension and Pentecost they never evidenced the slightest doubt as to the right answer. We Christians, as believers in and witnesses to Christ, must be firmly grounded in our understanding of and commitment to the deity of our Lord-not only that we might testify of Him to others, but also for His glory and our spiritual welfare.

The belief in the deity of Christ is derived directly from statements concerning Him in the Bible. The references are so many and their meaning so plain, that Christians of every shade of opinion have always regarded its affirmation as an absolute and indispensable requisite of their faith. It is proclaimed in the very first sermon of the infant Church (Acts 2:36) where Peter, to the loftiest title known to a Jew, adds a loftier still—Lord and Christ (Messiah); while in the last vision of the Book of Revelation the Lamb occupying one throne with God (Revelation 22:3) can betoken only essential oneness.
Jesus is God - Paul Washer
For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, (Colossians 2:9)
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:5-7)

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved. – Eph. 2:4-5
The Puddle of their own Merit - William Secker
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. (Isaiah 64:6)
